We have been to quite a few restaurants in our travels around Michigan both for our dog rescue and on vacations, but none compares to Big Bear Lodge! The combination of genuine "up North" log cabin ambience and prime rib slow roasted over a wood fire make a trip to this restaurant more than just grabbing a bite to eat--it's a mini vacation in itself. The enclosed porch area for diners wishing to be closer to the outdoors while enjoying the mouth-watering food even has little throw blankets on every chair in the fall! Not a single detail of being in an upscale log cabin is missed in this establishment. For us, the prime rib is the star of the show, however we have sampled many of the other menu items and have yet to be disappointed. The owner of this restaurant has definitely gotten it right.
