Well...Give 'Em The Full Picture
I do agree with Jeff, BUT it's a tad small for a city whos population is just under 1mil. It's not really for "Detroiters" either. That is the majority of the population who work in the factories, opposed to the few upscale employess of the park's corporate neighbors who need to "feel" safe amongst the remaining unemployed and homeless. I am for fun, just don't overplay the descriptions. - Unsubscribed , posted 12/24/06

Plenty to do in this gem of a park
Centrally located (for Detroiters) - this neat little park sitting at the foot of CompuWare and Ernst & Young has plenty to enjoy. The gravel pathways meader past waterwalls and reading nooks. There's plenty of market umbrellas to sit beneath to shield out the hot sun, and a spectacular animated fountain with all sorts of water (and sound) effects. Right there on the scene is an Au Bon Pain for the sweet tooth (or simply some good coffee) - nearby are the Lafayette Coney and American Coney for foodies - across the street is a Ben & Jerrys for Ice creams and Borders for books... how could you go wrong? There's Friday Night concerts - and on Saturday night, a free movie on the North lawn (usually with an opening band for musical entertainment). What's more, on Saturdays, the Detroit Petanque Club welcomes everyone to play some cool rounds of the french sport of Boules. - Jeffrey , posted 08/06/06
